EVEREADY has been awarded a Gold Award Certificate by the AIDS Population & Health Integrated Assistance (APHIA II Rift Valley) (“APHIA II”) in recognition of its innovative, comprehensive and sustainable HIV and AIDS Workplace Program.
APHIA II is a joint project between the United States Agency for International Development (“USAID”) and the Government of Kenya. The project aims to increase service access and use, while promoting healthier behaviors among most at risk groups and the general population. Eveready is proud of this alliance.
EVEREADY’s HIV and AIDS Workplace program has been in existence for over ten (10) years and offers all employees, their spouses and children access to free medical and counseling facilities. Infected colleagues and their spouses have access to these facilities for life.
EVEREADY also sponsors annual retreats at its Nakuru facility for teenagers and young people from the surrounding communities. These retreats are aimed at equipping the youth with life skills on managing the disease and living responsibly.
